At the 2023 MARQUES Annual Conference with the theme of “In Brands We Trust: The Next Frontier” in Berlin, our Partner, Titirat Wattanachewanopakorn, attended sessions that addressed, in particular, how diversity and the cultural environment will affect brand authenticity. The insightful discussion topics during the conference covered Piloting Brands; Risks and Rewards for brands in the metaverse; how culture affects brand strategies; steering brands in a time of crisis; new rules for e-commerce and AI, Tik-Tok, and influencers. The event was a great opportunity to foster and further connections with clients and IP colleagues from all corners of the world.

ILCT was proud to co-sponsor an upcoming Tech M&A online workshop organized by Corum Group. This 90-minute Merge Briefing seminar allowed attendees to hear from former CEOs and market experts as they covered market trends, recent transactions, valuation, and due diligence landmines, alongside other topics. The workshop was insightful and interactive. We were delighted to connect with more individuals from outside Bangkok. Following the event, we have been discussing more collaboration with the Corum Group.
ILCT’s participation in the 2023 Annual Internship Fairs for University Students was rewarding and insightful for our team. We have now shortlisted the candidates for our 2024 summer internship program and are excited to welcome them to our offices next year. We would like to thank both Thammasat and Chula Law departments for organizing such helpful networking events, alongside the ALSA committee, which also hosted an internship fair. ILCT looks forward to participating in more of these events.
Khun Palawi Bunnag, our valued partner, delivered an enlightening tax presentation at the BeLuThai Chamber of Commerce. In response to numerous questions from international attendees, both in-person and online, on the topic of Personal Income Tax on Foreign-sourced income brought into Thailand, the ILCT team had the pleasure of engaging with potential clients and imparting our knowledge on this important tax update.
Specifically, she spoke about what constitutes as Thai Tax Resident, how Assessable Income is defined by the Thai Revenue Code, Exempted Assessable Income, Tax Exemption through Long Term Residency, and the Avoidance of the Double Taxation Agreement.
Our Partners, Ratinuch Kawnachaimongkol and Juthajit Sriprasart attended the 13th China Trademark Festival in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China on June 16-19, 2023. This event was organized by the China Trademark Association (CTA) and this year’s theme was “Trademarks Empower New Development, Brands Lead Dual Circulation”. The four-day professional conference composed of the China Trademark Annual Meeting, the China Brand Trademark Expo, and series of interesting sessions and activities, including a panel discussion under the topic of “Intellectual Property Alternative Dispute Resolution” which Ratinuch Kawnachaimongkol was invited as one of the honored guest speakers to share her knowledge and experience from Thailand to the Chinese and international audience.
